The customer’s European factory already used equipment for handling unusually long coils. With high transport costs involved in sourcing similar equipment from Europe, the customer sought a solution in Asia. KAYOND developed a custom design using 3D load modeling, followed by a factory acceptance visit and successful delivery.

Customer-supplied reference equipment in Europe Used to understand the existing workflow and functional requirements
The Indonesian customer needed equipment capable of handling long coils while retaining the functions required by its existing process. Finding a suitable solution in Asia would address the high logistics costs associated with transporting equipment from Europe.
Load capacity alone does not define a long-coil handling solution. The attachment interface, load projection and relative positions during lifting and orientation changes also need to be reviewed. KAYOND used the customer’s equipment reference and load information as the basis for a custom design.

KAYOND recreated the customer’s long load in a 3D model alongside the truck and handling attachment. The model illustrated how these elements would work together during operation. Views from different angles helped the customer review the equipment layout, required load clearance and proposed functions, supporting discussion of the custom requirements.

After production, the customer visited the factory for acceptance. KAYOND demonstrated the equipment’s functions, allowing the customer to compare the physical machine with the previously reviewed 3D design and assess its operation in person.
The project progressed through requirements review, 3D load modeling, custom design, production and the customer’s factory acceptance visit to successful delivery. It provided a tailored answer to the customer’s search for suitable equipment in Asia.
KAYOND translated the customer’s existing workflow into design requirements, used 3D models to communicate the proposed solution and supported acceptance through a factory demonstration. For unusually long or specially shaped loads, equipment configurations can be assessed around load dimensions, weight, handling orientation and site clearances.
